John Daley Reporting An estranged father kidnapped three children tonight in Utah County and threatened to "take them to heaven." Authorities quickly issued an Amber Alert. The good news is the children are now safe, and the man is under arrest.

That Amber Alert went out around 8:15 tonight. A few minutes later, police found the suspect and the children near Point of the Mountain and cancelled the alert.

Father Arrested, Amber Alert Cancelled

The children took a wild ride tonight, to say the least. The children, ages six, four and 20 months had gone to a Provo park with their estranged father. When they didn't return on time, their mother called police. The police got in touch with the man, Christopher Young, on his cell phone. The mother could hear the children screaming in the background.

Adella Young, Mother: "I could hear them talking in the background. They kept saying 'mom we're on a cliff and a big grassy field. We can see lots of cars. We're going to go over the mountain, we're going to go over the mountain we're going to go to heaven.'"

Down the hill they went, you can see the tracks. The truck was muddy and covered with weeds.

The suspect, Christopher Young, was arrested and faces multiple charges. He has a history of violence and attempted suicides. The children are safe tonight, but obviously traumatized.

Another serious problem was the fact that some of the children suffer from a kidney disorder and can't go long without their medicine.

The mother of the children says she'll be forever indebted to the police agencies who helped get her children back tonight.
