SALT LAKE CITY -- As summer approaches, dermatologists are reminding Utahns of the importance of sunscreen.
Each year, 2 million new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed. Because of Utah's high altitude, residents here are at an increased risk to develop skin cancer.
Dr. Sancy Leachman, a dermatologist with the Huntsman Cancer Institute shared advice for choosing a sunscreen.
Leachman said it's especially important for adolescents and young adults to use sunscreen because melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, is the second most common form of cancer for that age group.
