(KSL News) -- Right now, fire officials are in a chopper surveying a fire on Twin Peaks in Salt Lake County.

The fire, sparked by lightning, burned across less than an acre, but it's seemingly big glow and billows of smoke prompted dozens of phone calls to K-S-L and many more to 9-1-1.

Dispatchers tell us they received so many calls, phones were backed up for four hours.

The fire is burning dead timber, and it does not appear to be spreading.

Fire officials will keep an eye on the fire throughout the day.
