SALT LAKE CITY — An October 2016 study conducted by College and University Food Bank Alliance found that, nationally, 48 percent of students reported food insecurity, not having access to affordable and sustainable food, within the previous month.
The study found further that 25 percent of community college students nationally qualified as having very low food security, and the number isn’t much lower for students at four-year universities: 20 percent.
