In 1966, very cold temperatures destroyed nearly 70 percent of Utah County's fruit crop. In 1970, a woman was injured by a tornado in Anabella, Sevier County. In 1987, nearly 22 inches of snow fell at Alta while 9 inches were recorded on the benches of Davis and Salt Lake Counties. In 1989, Hanksville recorded their warmest April temperature ever at 98 degrees.
