SALT LAKE CITY — Officials are looking for a man who they say pulled in front of a TRAX train and abandoned his vehicle on the train tracks Saturday morning.

A man pulled his vehicle in front of a TRAX train near the intersection of Main Street and 400 South at about 8 a.m., causing the train and vehicle to collide, according to Utah Transit Authority spokesman Carl Arky.

The man then ran east on 400 South, abandoning his vehicle, according to Arky. Police were still looking for the man as of 9 a.m., Arky said.

Trains had returned to normal schedules as of 9:30 a.m., according to a tweet from UTA officials. Commuters may experience residual delays throughout the morning.
