SALT LAKE CITY — Ain’t it sweet? We’re on to the second week of competition as we try to find the most prominent Utahn.
The voting on Friday was close in several matchups, while others continued to roll to victory — we’re looking at you, Spencer W. Kimball. Apparently, he’s got quite the fan base or something.
The Sweet 16 round features many well-known Utahns and it should prove difficult to make up your mind as to who to vote for. In region four, we get an all-LDS Church prophets setting, while in the other regions we see Utahns famous for their philanthropic heart, their service as a member of Congress or as a beloved football coach.
A reminder of the rules:
- As has been the case throughout the tournament, this is a vote for the most prominent Utahn who is no longer with us. There are plenty of famous Utahns who are still alive and well that don’t qualify for this tournament — maybe next year!
- Vote on as many devices as you feel necessary to sway the vote, but don’t cheat. Line about cheaters never prosper or something cliché.
- Voting will go throughout the day and will end at midnight. All votes cast after midnight will not be counted toward the total. Screenshots will be taken of each poll with a time stamp to avoid issues. Due to the amount of polls, the time stamp may read a few minutes after midnight.
- Individuals receiving the most votes will move on to the next round. The Elite 8 will be released Friday, with the Final 4 and Championship voting taking place the following Wednesday and Friday, respectively.
