Editor's note: The criminal case against Chad Berghoff has since been expunged in 4th District Court.

OREM — Two men were recently arrested in connection with five pharmacy burglaries and two stolen credit card cases, police said.

Chad A. Berghoff, 22, and Craig D. Royster, 18, were linked to the burglaries and credit card thefts through interviews by police, according to the Orem Police Department.

Investigators said they were led to the two men by security footage they received while investigating a stolen credit card. A woman reported on April 11 that a card she lost had several fraudulent charges on it, police said. Several of the charges were made at stores in Orem and detectives said they were able to obtain video surveillance from a retailer that showed a tan or silver Chevy truck with a camper shell on it.

"A few days later, that same detective saw the suspect vehicle and stopped it. Inside were two males, both of which appeared to be the men that used the stolen credit card," a statement from the department reads.

Officers found medication that was reported missing from the March 30 burglary of the Walgreens in Orem, located at 850 S. State Street, in the car, according to police.

The pharmacy burglaries investigators suspect the men are connected to occurred in Utah County, police said. The men are suspected of burglarizing or attempting to burglarize the Walgreens in Orem, the Smiths in Orem, the Walgreens in Saratoga Springs and the Walgreens in Springville. Police said they also burglarized Taylor Drug in American Fork twice.

Berghoff and Royster are being held at the Utah County Jail and are both facing at least 12 charges in connection to the burglaries and credit card theft, according to police.
