3 SLC banks, pharmacy robbed Wednesday

SALT LAKE CITY – Police reported three bank robberies and one robbery of a pharmacy occurred Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Between 2 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., four different men robbed four separate locations in Salt Lake City, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.

The first robbery occurred at 2:11 p.m. at the U.S. Bank at 1375 S. Foothill Drive. A man approached a teller and demanded money, according to police. The robber fled on foot. He was described as a white male in his early 20s with blonde facial hair, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and wearing a black sweatshirt, black beanie and a black backpack.

A few hours later, just after 5 p.m., another man, identified by police as Michael Bacon, entered the Mountain America Credit Union at 735 S. State Street, making demands to a teller and fleeing the scene. Bacon is described as a white man between the ages of 50 and 60 and had a tanned weathered face and large nose, police said. He weighed about 200 pounds, was 6 foot 3 inches and was wearing a blue jacket over unkempt clothing, as well as a dark beanie with white designs.

Bacon's last known address was the Road Home Shelter, 210 S. Rio Grand. Any information that leads to his arrest and conviction will be rewarded with $500, Salt Lake City Police Department said. The case number is 14-27736.

At 5:32 p.m., the University Credit Union at 3080 S. Richmond Street was robbed at gunpoint by a white man in a striped blue and white knit cap and black pea coat, police said. He fled the bank southbound on foot. He was 6 feet tall and weighed about 175 pounds. Police have released surveillance of the incident. The case number is 14-27762.

Later that night, the Walgreens on 900 East and 2100 South was robbed by a man who jumped over the pharmacy counter and brandished a weapon before taking several bottles of pain medication, police reported. The robber was described as a white man in his early 20s with a slim build and red facial hair growth. He stood at 5-feet 6-inches tall, weighing 130 pounds. His trousers, hoodie and ski mask were all black.
