OGDEN — An alleged case of animal cruelty involving the killing of a cat has been determined to be unfounded by Ogden police.
On July 24, an officer was sent to break up a fight between two women at 525 Park Blvd. One woman had accused the other woman's son of killing a cat, according to police. There were also accusations of several kittens dying after their mother was killed, according to police.
After conducting several interviews, Ogden police Deputy Director of Support Services John Harvey said investigators could only find one child who claimed to see someone throw a deceased cat into a river. But police did not find anyone else who had seen a cat killed or found the body of a deceased cat, Harvey said.
"At this point, we are closing the case as unfounded. Should anyone have any other information regarding this event that can help in the investigations, they should contact the Ogden Police Department, Animal Services Division at 801-629-8960," the department stated in a prepared release.
