TAYLORSVILLE — Police have arrested three individuals after a fight broke out and a man was stabbed early Saturday morning.
Police officers responded to a reported altercation at 4384 S. 1265 West around 5:30 a.m., according to Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal. A 39-year-old man had a party at his house, and as four male teens were leaving, he followed them outside and a fight broke out during the confrontation.
During the incident, the 39-year-old was stabbed and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. A 17-year-old and an 18-year-old received minor injuries associated with being struck by a blunt object, and they were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
UPD Detectives identified the 17-year-old male as the one who stabbed the victim. He was booked into the Salt Lake Valley Detention for aggravated assault, assault, rioting, and consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Another 17-year-old male was booked into the Salt Lake Valley Detention for tampering with evidence. The 18-year-old identified as Dillon Sanchez was booked in to the Salt Lake County Jail for rioting and consumption of alcohol by a minor. The fourth suspect was interviewed, but was found not to be involved and was released.
Detectives have recovered the knife used to stab the victim.
"Neighbors shouldn't be fearful about what took place," Hoyal said. "We have all the individuals in custody that were involved and there aren't any outstanding suspects."
