OREM — Police officers responded to an accident involving a car driving into an Orem Subway restaurant Friday night.
Sgt. Craig Martinez said that officers responded to a call at 9 p.m. of a car accident at the Subway on 1416 N. State Street. When officer arrived at the scene, they found that a 59-year-old Orem woman had driven her car through the wall of the Subway building.
Martinez said that the woman was pulling up to the Subway to buy food with her daughter when she inadvertently pushed the gas pedal instead of the brake, propelling the car forward into the building.
The accident destroyed six seating areas inside, but no one was injured in the incident. The damage to the property has not been estimated.
No citations were issued in the accident.
