MONTREAL (AP) — Montreal Canadiens defenseman Shea Weber will miss the rest of the season because of a foot injury that will require surgery.

The team says he has a torn tendon in his left foot. Weber has missed the last 26 games, and surgery is needed because the injury didn't heal as expected.

The timetable for his return is not clear. But the team's orthopedic surgeon said Thursday that Weber is expected to be fully recovered in time for training camp.
