1. Officials identify Pleasant Grove man found dead on I-80 near Saltair

Officials identified a man who was found dead early Sunday morning on I-80 near the Saltair as Bo Shepherd, 28, of Pleasant Grove.

2. Evacuation order lifted after Herriman fire 50 percent contained

A fire burning in the hills southwest of Herriman prompted firefighters Saturday afternoon to to issue a voluntary evacuation order for residents of more than 400 homes.

3. 'His eyes were pinned on me': Mountain lion stalks, injures Utah bow hunter

The Summit County Sheriff's Office and a team from the Division of Wildlife Resources searched for a mountain lion Saturday after it stalked a father and son bow hunting in the mountains near the Kamas Fish Hatchery.

4. 8-year-old boy from Enoch dies in crash near Parowan

An 8-year-old boy died Saturday after a driver lost control and swerved into another car, the Utah Highway Patrol reported. Troopers identified the boy as Jonathan Chapman from Enoch.

5. Timpanogos Cave to close on Labor Day due to construction on new visitor center

Timpanogos Cave National Monument will close several weeks early this year to allow construction to begin on a new visitor center. The cave will close for the season after Labor Day and later that week, a “temporary” visitor center that has been in place for 27 years will be torn down.

1. Rusnak's stoppage time brace helps Real Salt Lake steal road win at Houston

Albert Rusnak scored two goals in stoppage time, and Real Salt Lake snuck away with three points on the road Saturday night with a 2-1 win over the Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium.

2. Former BYU tight end Daniel Coats out to build first-year Farmington into football winner

There’s a new kid on the block in Davis County, with the new Farmington High joining the high school football ranks.

But a familiar face was leading the Phoenix in its first game, a road loss at Timpanogos. The face belongs to Daniel Coats, the 6-foot-3 former BYU tight end who is a Layton native.

3. Rodriguez's final kick salvages 2-2 draw for Utah Royals FC against league-worst Sky Blue

Amy Rodriguez scored the equalizer with her final touch of the night to salvage a 2-2 draw with still-winless Sky Blue, salvaging a point but severely hindering the NWSL expansion team's quest for a playoff bid.

4. Hagen, Mitchell rally 5A contender Corner Canyon by 6A Pleasant Grove in season debut

Cole Hagen hit John Mitchell three times for touchdowns, and Corner Canyon rallied for a 40-30 win over Pleasant Grove in a weather-delayed season-opener Friday night at Corner Canyon High School.

5. Former Dixie State golfer shoots 5-under to clinch 2018 Utah Open championship

Dusty Fielding fired seven birdies for a 5-under-par 67 to clinch the $20,000 grand prize and the win at the 2018 Siegfried and Jensen Utah Open at the Riverside Country Club in Provo.
