HONG KONG — The worldwide ministry tour for LDS Church President Russell M. Nelson is winding down. On Saturday he made his second-to-last stop in Asia.

More than 4,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gathered together Saturday night in Hong Kong: the largest audience of any of President Nelson's stops on his global ministry tour.

President Nelson and his wife, Sister Wendy W. Nelson, visited with several multi-generational Latter-day Saint families in Hong Kong. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has a strong presence there, but Saturday's meeting also brought church members from other regions of Asia.

"Here in Hong Kong we will have people coming from nearby Macou (China)," President Nelson told KSL. "Many people will be coming from the major cities of The People's Republic of China."

When speaking to the congregation in Hong Kong, President Nelson told them, "We are very happy to go around the world to symbolize the love of God to all of his children around the world."

Joined by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, of the church's Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and his wife, Sister Patricia Holland, the church leaders offered counsel and hope for these Latter-day Saints in Asia.

"It's just a blessing to see so many saints together in the gospel," a woman at the meeting told KSL.

"I think, in my life, this is the very first time for me to see all those many (people from) different corners of the world, Latter-day Saints, get together to meet the prophet and receive teaching from him," one man said.

Since leaving Salt Lake City on April 10, the LDS Church leaders have visited seven countries on three continents. They will conclude their global tour Sunday in Honolulu, Hawaii, before returning to Utah on Monday.
