PROVO — Police found a woman and boy on Monday that were previously missing out of Provo. Authorities were previously looking for the pair after the woman didn't return the child she had been babysitting to his mother Sunday night, police said.

Officials located 37-year-old Jordana Murray and 7-year-old Victor Rosas-Mendoza Monday just after 8 p.m. after police had earlier sought the public's help in finding the two to complete a welfare check, according to a Provo Police Department Facebook post.

Police didn't believe the child was in danger, according to Provo Police Sgt. Nisha King.

Rosas-Mendoza’s mother is friends with Murray and told police she didn’t believe Murray abducted or would harm the child, King said.

King said police were hoping that Murray would see that police were trying to get ahold of her and contact officers to complete the welfare check and return Rosas-Mendoza to his mother. As of 9 p.m., police didn't have more information on how and where Murray and the child were found.

Rosas-Mendoza’s mother had contacted police shortly after Murray didn’t show up at the agreed upon time sometime Sunday night.

Police said at about 8:20 p.m. that the two were found in good health and Rosas-Mendoza would be reunited with his mother soon.
