LEHI — A middle school student in Lehi is under investigation for allegedly taking a gun to school on Wednesday.

The boy, who attends Lehi Junior High, brought a gun to school and told his friends about it, said Alpine School District spokesman David Stephenson. The friends then told school administrators, who pulled the boy out of class and contacted Lehi police, he said.

Stephenson did not know Wednesday if the boy had any intention of using the gun, if he brought it to show off, or exactly why he brought the firearm to school.

Alpine officials praised the friends who notified school administrators and reminded others that if they "see something, say something."
