VERNAL — Criminal charges were filed Tuesday against a Vernal an accused of stabbing his father multiple times.
Tristan Olsen, who turned 18 just two days before the incident, was charged in 8th District Court with attempted murder, a first-degree felony.
On Saturday, police say Olsen and his father got into a verbal argument.
"During the confrontation, the defendant obtained possession of a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times causing serious physical injury, including stabs wounds to the stomach which lacerated the victim’s liver and colon," charging documents state.
The father was later flown by medical helicopter to a hospital in Salt Lake City.
