SOUTH SALT LAKE — A semitruck on fire forced officials to close the westbound I-80 ramp at the I-15 junction for several hours Sunday evening.
About 7:30 p.m., a truck driver pulled over off of I-80 near milepost 123 when he noticed his semitruck was smoking, according to Utah Highway Patrol troopers.
The driver was able to exit the cabin safely as he waited for first responders to arrive. No injuries were reported, troopers confirmed.
Several lanes of the ramp onto southbound I-15 and state Route 201 were expected to be closed until 11 p.m., according to the [Utah Department of Transportation](<http://udottraffic.utah.gov/ target=>).
Troopers said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
