SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City’s Twilight Concert Series has announced its initial lineup of concerts for this summer.

The lineup includes six dates and 13 artists, with several more to be announced, according to the concert series website. The concerts will take place at The Gallivan Center at 239 Main St. in Salt Lake City.

Electronic music act Hippie Sabotage will kick off the series on July 20. The series concludes on Aug. 30 with a performance from Santigold.

Here’s a look at the full list of artists announced Thursday:

  • July 20: Hippie Sabotage
  • July 25: Blind Pilot, with Foxwarren and The Hollering Pines
  • Aug. 1: Young the Giant, with The Aces and Sego
  • Aug. 8: Vince Staples, with Leikeli47 and Concise Kilgore
  • Aug. 15: Courtney Barnett, with Snail Mail
  • Aug. 30: Santigold

The July 20, Aug. 15 and Aug. 30 concerts will all feature additional artists who have yet to be announced, according to the website. Season tickets for the concert series will go on sale at 10 a.m. on May 6, according to the website. Tickets for individual shows will be available at 10 a.m. May 9, according to the series Facebook page.

Tickets will be available at 24tix.com.

Information about prices was not yet available on Thursday. Tickets for the shows in 2018 cost $10 each.

The concert series has run for decades, but has faced obstacles in recent years.

In 2017, Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski’s office recommended that the series not be funded for the next year. That recommendation came after the Salt Lake City Arts Council decided not to produce the series, according to arts council assistant director Kelsey Ellis.

However, the arts council board and Broadway Media reached an agreement and put the 2018 series on, after all.
