THE PASTURE — March 23 is National Puppy day, but looking at puppy images and videos isn’t the only way to celebrate.
You can also celebrate by looking at videos of cows. Well, you can celebrate by watching a specific video with a specific cow named Lotta.
Lotta lives on a farm in Gothenburg, Sweden. While doing cow things on lush Swedish hillside sounds idyllic, almost four years ago Lotta was not all that happy. In fact, she was anxious about her very existence.
This maternal bovine was anxious because it was calving season, but the farm didn’t have any claves, according to the stable manager Jasmine Fenah Sjögren. Sjögren decided to introduce Lotta to a Pilates ball, and a new light came into the cow’s life.
As you’ll see in the video, Lotta waits for Sjögren to throw the ball, then she bounds (yes, bounds) after it while happily bellowing. It really is a game of fetch, since Lotta guides the ball back to Sjögren to throw it again. And just like that, Lotta is too blessed to be stressed.
Lotta’s happiness in her puppy-like behavior is contagious, and that’s why I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate National Puppy Day. However, if you want to see puppies, I got you with this puppy gallery from KSL.
Full disclosure: This video first went viral six months ago, but believe me you, it is still happy and fresh every time you see it.
