FOOD LAND — One of the most millennial things about me is that I frequently have avocado toast delivered to my apartment via Postmates.
And before you drag me for how ridiculous this is, I know. I am well aware. I am a product of my generation. We love avocado toast, and we love apps that make life easier.
But millennials didn't invent avocado toast, and we don't have a monopoly on loving it.
So what do other generations think about the food? Well, these kids certainly have some mixed feelings.
A group of kids tried avocado toast in a video posted to YouTube Tuesday, and they were a little mystified.
"Do you know what a millennial is?" a woman behind the camera asks the kids as the video starts out.
"A monkey that's losing its tail," one kid confidently answers.
"Is it water? A different kind of water?" another kid asks.

Hip hop has done crossovers with classical concertos, country music and rock music. It's about time there was a hip hop and opera crossover.After those creative answers, the kids go on to try decadent pieces of avocado toast topped with whipped miso tofu, cherry tomatoes, arugula, bacon and a fried egg. Some of the kids love it — one even said she was craving it in the car — but overall, they are not exactly hyped about the toast and its array of toppings.
For instance, one kid takes a bite of an avocado and says, "it tastes like a mushy green bean," while looking totally disgusted. He warms up over time ... a bit.
"I like this egg, but the yolk tastes weird," he says in the video.
The video is really cute, even if you don't like avocado toast — or millennials — and I think you'll enjoy it. But if you were born anytime before 1996, fair warning: these kids think those were "old times."
