THE BACKYARD — When I was a kid, raking leaves was one of my least favorite chores.
My family had two big trees in our front yard, and raking up all the leaves each fall took what felt like days and days. I hated how dirty the task was and how scratchy the leaves were, but at least, unlike most chores, there was the promise of fun at the end. Because at the end, you got to jump in the pile of crispy, crunchy, yellow leaves.
In a video posted to Twitter Saturday, a dog is living his best life doing just that: jumping through a pile of fall leaves. Uploaded with the caption, "I have to share my dog going bananas in the leaves so you can see at least one happy thing on here today," the video is absolutely wonderful and possibly the truest embodiment of pure joy.

In the video, the dog bounces up and down in the leaves like he is in dog heaven, but the best part may be that the tweet inspired other dog owners to share videos of their pets also living their best autumn lives. The result is an adorable thread of dog pics and videos that will definitely bring a smile to your face. Enjoy 🐶

Related, my dogs deep love for not playing but being buried in the snow (that makes 2 happy things!): pic.twitter.com/H655FE45qV
