STREAMTOWN — June is upon us and along with the hot weather we have also received a boatload of great new titles to stream.

I try to put together a list for you every month of the best new titles streaming on Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime and I have to be honest, some months it’s hard to compile an entire list. The tough part about this month is that I had too many titles to choose from.

Here’s a look at 10 of the best new titles you can stream in June:

Netflix

“The King’s Speech” (Available June 2)

2010 was a good year for movies that gave us modern classics like “Inception,” “The Social Network” and “Tangled,” but the movie crowned best picture was “The King’s Speech.”

The biographical film about King George VI and his sudden rise to the throne and the speech therapist who helped him gain the confidence necessary to lead a nation is a truly beautiful film.

The movie has an incredible message, powerful performances and is that rare drama that’s also incredibly entertaining and now you can enjoy it any time on Netflix.

“The King’s Speech” is rated R for some language.

“Thor: Ragnarok” (Available June 5)

I am very hit and miss when it comes to Marvel movies and I must admit two of the movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe I hate the most are “Thor” and “Thor: The Dark World.” That’s why even I’m shocked to admit that “Thor: Ragnarok” may be my favorite Marvel movie.

This film is a departure from pretty much everything else in the MCU and it was one of the funniest films of 2017. I saw this twice in the theater and look forward to watching it at home on Netflix.

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” (Available June 26)

The highest grossing film of 2017 is headed to your home theater thanks to technology. “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” will start streaming on Netflix on June 26. When I saw “The Last Jedi” in the theater I was a big fan and you can see that from my review, but I must be honest a second viewing left me a little bored and agreeing with a lot of the haters.

Regardless of my bias toward the film, this is a huge addition to Netflix and I’m pretty sure I’ll end up watching it with my kids.

Hype and boatloads of money aside, one question still remains: Is “The Last Jedi” any good? I’m here to emphatically tell you it is; it’s very good.

Hulu

“Apollo 13” (Available June 1)

In 1995 Ron Howard gave us the true story of “Apollo 13.” The movie has held up against time pretty well and boasts fantastic performances from Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Ed Harris and the late Bill Paxton.

The movie is great for a movie night at home, and now that’s possible with “Apollo 13” streaming on Hulu.

“Lord of the Rings” trilogy (Available June 1)

I don’t have much to say here because I’m not much of a fan of the "Lord of the Rings" movies. I know, I know, that’s heresy, but I have to stay true to myself. I just don’t like them, but that doesn’t matter cause everyone else does, which means you’ll all be happy to know you can watch all nine hours of them on Hulu.

“Stargate” (Available June 3)

This is kind of a deep dive here, but the 1994 film “Stargate” is streaming in June on Hulu and I’m looking forward to watching this sci-fi cult classic. This film was the catalyst for multiple TV shows and a huge following. The movie isn’t a great piece of cinema like “Citizen Kane,” but it is a fun sci-fi adventure and worth a watch if you’re a sci-fi fan.

Amazon Prime

“The Disaster Artist” (Available June 1)

This is kind of a wildcard pick, but I had to include “The Disaster Artist.” The 2017 film is streaming on Amazon Prime and is a strange, funny and touching look at Hollywood and the eclectic and often bizarre characters who occupy it.

The film is based on the true story of Tommy Wiseau and his film “The Room,” which is often described as the worst movie ever made. If you decide to take a chance on “The Disaster Artist” check out some clips of “The Room” on YouTube beforehand and the film will be more enjoyable.

James Franco is fantastic in the film as Wiseau and his brother Dave Franco turns in a solid performance as well.

“The Disaster Artist” is rated R for language throughout and some sexuality.

“Transformers: The Last Knight” (Available June 16)

Whenever a new Transformers movie comes out I have this internal dialogue: “Pfft. I can’t believe they’re still making these. I’m never going to see this.”

Then the movies start streaming somewhere and on a desperate weekend night I end up having this internal dialogue: “Hey, a new Transformers movie. I guess I’ll check it out.”

I promise you this will happen this June with “Transformers: The Last Knight” streaming on Amazon Prime. I probably won't like it, but I’ll have some fun watching stuff blow up.
