SALT LAKE CITY — It's not every day that you get to witness some of the best phenomena nature has to offer. But for one Utah man, being in the right place at the right time meant capturing one such event on camera and going viral because of it.

Greg Harlow is an outdoor photographer and videographer from Sugar House. In 2016, he decided to chase his dream of working for National Geographic, so he turned his SUV into a camper vehicle and started traveling around the United States. During a three-week stint in the Sierra Nevadas last November, he visited Yosemite National Park and captured this remarkable video.

The video shows a unique (and stunning) view of rainbow mist rolling off Yosemite Falls. As the sun hits the mist, the entire waterfall seemingly turns into a pouring rainbow, and it really just might be one of the most beautiful things you'll ever watch.

According to National Geographic, high winds the day this was captured caused the waterfall to spray mist, which then allowed the full spectrum of colors to show so vibrantly as the first rays of sunlight lit up the rock face.

Yesterday's Have You Seen This?

Harlow had just been waiting for the sunrise and enjoying the view at Glacier Point when he witnessed this brilliant light display.

"I had a friend come out to meet me there, and we watched the sunrise and caught up over some coffee," Harlow told KSL.com. "I brought a mobile coffee maker so we could enjoy the view. This ended up being crucial since we stayed til about 9 a.m. when the rainbow began to take shape."

Harlow explained that the conditions that led to this phenomenon are rare, and because of the strong winds that morning, he and his friend were the only ones around to witness it.

"The time of year, time of day, clear sky from a rainstorm the night before and extreme winds in the valley blew out a spray that created this 2,400-foot full spectrum rainbow," Harlow said. "It lasted roughly 10 minutes."

Since Harlow captured this amazing sight, his video has gone viral with more than 20 million views overall. Now, Harlow's still chasing his dream to be a nature and wildlife cameraman, but he's grateful that he was in the right place with the right equipment and was able to capture this particular moment.
