PROVO — The fledgling United Utah Party announced four candidates for three legislative races and one commissioner seat Wednesday.

Isaac Walters will challenge Rep. Kay Christofferson, R-Lehi, for House District 56. Walters is a Provo resident and earned a bachelor's in theater from Brigham Young University, a master's in directing from Columbia University and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin. Walters has spent a majority of his career in higher education and currently works at Utah Valley University, according to a news release from the party.

Hillary Stirling will challenge Rep. Brian Greene, R-Pleasant Grove, for House District 57. Stirling is an American Fork resident and earned a bachelor's in English from BYU and an associate in paralegal studies from UVU. She is currently employed with the law firm Mack and Associates.

Eric Chase will challenge Rep. Keith Grover, R-Provo, for House District 61. Chase is a Provo resident with a degree in techatronic technologies from UVU.

Teri McCabe will challenge Commissioner Greg Graves for his Utah County Commission seat. McCabe is a Provo resident and earned undergraduate and master’s degrees in athletic training at BYU.

Graves became an object of the "me too" movement's ire in December after allegations of sexual harassment and bullying came to light. Seventeen Utah County state lawmakers and hundreds of residents have called for his resignation.
