SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Wasatch Academy’s Damion Squire had a moment to remember Friday night on the basketball court.
Squire, who led the Tigers at the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions in Springfield, Missouri, had the ball in a tie game with the final seconds running off the clock.
With nothing to lose, the 6-foot UC Davis commit threw up a prayer from way, way downtown.
Squire finished with 13 points and four assists, including the 70-foot buzzer beater that led the Tigers to a 68-65 win over Glendale in a consolation game at the Tournament of Champions.
Marvin Williams III added 20 points for Wasatch Academy (14-2), which competes as an independent school in the Utah High School Activities Association. Matt Bradley supplied 13 points and four rebounds for the Tigers.
Monty Johal scored a game-high 30 points to go with five rebounds and six assists to lead Glendale.

Consolation final: Wasatch Academy 47, Ozark (Mo.) 46
Mady Sissoko’s jumper with 11 seconds left lifted the Tigers to a 47-46 win over Ozark in the consolation championship of the Tournament of Champions.
Ozark led 43-39 with 4:26 remaining, but Wasatch Academy finished the game on an 8-3 run over the final three minutes.
Matt Bradley led the Tigers with 14 points and five rebounds, and Squire added 10 points and two rebounds.
Quinn Nelson led Ozark with a game-high 29 points.
