For forty years The Family Support Center has been protecting children, strengthening families and preventing child abuse. The center is a not for profit organization that was established in response to a pressing need for short-term crisis and respite care for children at risk for abuse or neglect. Their services have expanded to offer a network of programs to address multifaceted issues facing families today including free care for children through the Crisis Nursery, parenting support, housing, counseling and community classes. They have five locations throughout the Salt Lake valley to serve and provide support to the community. In the past year, The Family Support Center has served more than three thousand individuals and provided almost sixty-two thousand hours of direct care. Volunteers play a vital role in the centers programs by contributing over thirteen thousand hours of volunteer time. For more information about their services or to volunteer, visit Family Support Center.org. SelectHealth recognizes the charitable work provided by The Family Support Center as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
