Wednesday's Child - 'I just want a family that will love and support me'
November 8, 2017

SALT LAKE CITY — Welcome to a world where not everything is at it seems. Makeup and make-believe make for an experience most don't get.

"I'm kind of into scary things a little bit," said Redd.

On Wednesday, Redd spent time at a local haunt, The Fear Factory, and got his hands dirty.

"I think prosthetics are cool and the makeup is cool too," he said.

Redd, who hopes to become an artist one day, is 15-years-old and has been through a lot in his short life.

He was born in Ohio and moved back and forth for a while.

"The last time I came back from Ohio was when I was 12," he said. That's when Redd says his life took a turn.

"My mom lost custody of me," he said.

Redd still thinks of his biological mother every day.

"You know, she told me (foster care) was just temporary," he said. "It's been really hard."

Redd has lived in the Utah Foster Care system for years and is waiting to be adopted

"The hardest part about (living) in foster care is just the constant moving from place to place," he said.

Redd said he's ready for that to change.

"I just want a family that will love and support me," he said. "We're meant to be here for a reason and it's to become stronger."
