WOODS CROSS — A motorcyclist died after colliding with a truck in Davis County late Wednesday night.

He was identified as 24-year-old Peter Scott Howey of North Salt Lake.

Howey was southbound on U.S. 89 at about 10:30 p.m. when his motorcycle crashed into a truck that was turning west at the intersection of 2600 South, on the border of Bountiful and Woods Cross, police said.

Investigators are still trying to determine what exactly caused the crash. Police will be interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance video from nearby businesses as part of the investigation.

Police said Howey was wearing a helmet and protective gear, but died on scene.

The woman who was driving the truck is cooperating with police. The intersection was closed for a time but reopened for the morning commute.
