TREMONTON, Box Elder County — Tremonton officials asked residents to restrict water use temporarily Monday after a "major" water line break drained the city's water tanks.

City officials sent a message on Facebook notifying residents to limit water use for a couple of hours after they had to shut off the city water system's main pump while repairing the break.

City officials later reported that the line had been fixed but urged residents to continue to conserve water use until the water tanks could be filled back up again.
