THE SHOP — I think by now most of you know that the Hydraulic Press Channel on YouTube is the internet’s current go-to stop to witness the innocent but complete destruction of everyday items.

If you can dream it, and if it fits under the press, they will try to crush it. Nothing is sacred: not your childhood toys, not your handheld electronics, not your tools, and especially not your can of silly string.

Now the fine Finnish people behind the channel added something new to their repertoire: an extruder. So instead of just crushing stuff into an oblivion, they’re crushing it into an oblivion and forcing it through a small hole. Think of it as one of those Play-Doh toys but, with like, at least four more horsepower. (No research or science was used in this statement.)

On this particular destruction-by-extrusion journey, HPC decided that fast-food hamburgers would be their target. In the video, they first crush a Big Mac as they normally would, which is fascinating, beautiful and absolutely gross all at the same time.

Then the fun really begins when they stuff six burgers into the extruder. The results are duly disgusting, but the bits of food also resemble confetti, so you may choose to barf, have a dance party or have a barfing dance party.

HPC’s idea for the burger bits is to reshape them into burgers and fry them up again. Personally, I would like to see a burger confetti machine at your next outdoor party to get everyone pumped up to party then pumped up to flee when the birds inevitably swarm the area.

Visit HPC’s YouTube channel for more crushing, which is often accompanied by the best man giggling you’ve probably heard.
