THE DANCEHALL — If you think a dance tournament for the elderly sounds boring, you have another thing coming.

More specifically, 64-year-old Nellian Ehrentraut and 70-year-old Dietmar Ehrentraut will prove you wrong with their routine from the 2017 Boogie-Woogie Veteranen Turnier in Landshut, Germany.

I will fully admit I wasn’t expecting much from the video, but I’m a sucker for a couple of dapper dressers and swing dancers (no matter the age), so I felt more than compelled to click.

You can tell the couple is full of spunk and personality as they grin and posture onto the dance floor. They ease into the dance with some typical bounces and pull-kicks, but then the action really begins.

No, Dietmar is not flipping Nellian over his head, but they perform plenty of twists stunts that require coordination that I certainly don’t have and a trust that only 40 years of dancing together can bring.

You will be just as delighted as the rest of the internet if you trust over 63 million views on Facebook.

As a secret bonus, consider watching the video once to fully enjoy the Ehrentraut’s dance, and then watch it again to keep your eye on the judge in the black hat. His awe is palpable.

As you may have realized, this isn’t the couple’s first tournament. To see more of their slick dance moves, check out their YouTube channel here.
