SALT LAKE CITY — A rolled over semitruck trailer caused the I-80/I-15 southbound junction to temporarily close down Saturday afternoon.
Utah Highway Patrol officials said that the semitruck was heading eastbound on I-80 towards the I-15 onramp in Salt Lake City. The semi-truck jackknifed and the trailer flipped over and ripped open at roughly 1:40 p.m.
The trailer contained canned food, which spilled over the road. Police closed the road in order to clean up the cans and lift the trailer.
Police said that it’s estimated that the road will be closed for a couple of hours, and urged drivers to find an alternate route. The road later reopened.
