SALT LAKE CITY — The “Best Small City” tournament is now down to the final eight cities, with the end in sight.

No. 4 Moab seems to be the favorite heading into the Elite 8 round, but its matchup with No. 14 Oakley will not be an easy task. Oakley has been the “Cinderella” of the tournament and will be looking to knock down the perceived favorite. However, Moab garnered the largest win margin against its opponent in the Sweet 16 round, winning with a total of 74 percent of the vote.

Ephraim remains the only No. 1 seed left in the tournament but will have a tough matchup against No. 6 Midway. Can Ephraim make it to the Final Four or will upsets claim the day?

As a reminder, the voting will go throughout the day and will be officially called at midnight (votes after midnight will not count). Cities will advance in similar fashion to that of the NCAA Tournament, with four cities advancing to the Final Four round. The final week of the tournament will take place Wednesday and Friday of next week, with the winner being crowned the following Monday.

As always, there are no formal rules other than cheating is not allowed. If you don’t like the perceived favorite, rally around the other cities to claim the coveted “upset.” If you want a particular region of the state represented, get out the vote. Just have fun as we get closer to the end.
