SALT LAKE CITY — To some surprise, it was a quiet deadline for the Utah Jazz.

The Jazz allowed the NBA's 1 p.m. deadline Thursday to come and go without making a move of any sort, keeping their 15-man roster the same as it's been all season long.

That's despite having ample cap space and a few long-term assets in terms of draft picks. The Jazz had $13.6 million in cap space and were $4.2 million below the salary cap floor. They also had two first round picks in this draft, their own and Golden State's.

But the Jazz didn't find a deal today that gave them any assets for that cap space, nor that gave them sufficient long-term compensation for their picks. They could have traded a first round pick for an expiring contract, but felt that the long-term benefits weren't worth it.

Derrick Favors remains a Jazzman for at least the rest of the season. Favors' name had been named in numerous rumors over the past week, but the Jazz the offers received for Favors weren't close to his value in their mind.

Shelvin Mack is also staying around. Mack had been a possibility for the Cavaliers to help their point guard situation, but apparently, the Cavs were happy with their roster as well: they made no moves either.

The Jazz are on a 49-win pace after a 35-22 start, led by All-Star Gordon Hayward and near All-Star Rudy Gobert. They'll also be fully healthy Friday, as coach Quin Snyder indicated that Rodney Hood will be available for the Jazz's road matchup against Milwaukee.
