AMERICAN FORK — The holidays have arrived, which means it’s time for holiday high school basketball tournaments.

We’ll have full highlights of a big week for prep hoops at the Utah Elite 8, Free Tax USA Shootout and other tournaments around the state Saturday at 6 p.m. MST on Game Night Live.

Utah Elite 8

Saturday's games

Bingham 60, Copper Hills 56 — At American Fork, Dason Youngblood scored 21 points with four steals as the Miners used a 31-24 spurt in the middle two quarters to hold off the Grizzlies in the Utah Elite 8 championship game.

Utah commit Branden Carlson added 15 points, four blocks and three steals for the Miners (5-1), who avenged last year's loss to Copper Hills in the Elite 8 title game.

Stockton Shorts had 21 points and four assists to lead Copper Hills (3-1).

American Fork 58, Davis 47 — At American Fork, Isaac Johnson had 15 points and five rebounds to help the Cavemen hold off the Darts.

Jake Whitehead added 13 points and three steals for American Fork (4-1), and teammate Rob Crowther had 11 points and three steals.

Rich Stucki scored 13 to lead Davis (4-2).

Corner Canyon 69, Olympus 59 — At American Fork, Michael Scheffner scored 28 points as the Chargers rallied from a 35-19 halftime deficit to top the reigning 4A champion Titans.

Zach Willson had 22 points and seven rebounds for Corner Canyon, and teammate Ammon Jensen supplied 10 points and three assists.

Travis Wagstaff led Olympus with 15 points and seven rebounds.

Lehi 71, Bountiful 62 — At American Fork, Kade Moore scored 15 and Ethan Tucker added 14 points to lead the Pioneers past the Braves.

Dallin Holker and Jackson Treu each scored 10 points for Lehi.

Brig Willard led Bountiful with 25 points and eight rebounds, and Ryan Pollard supplied 18 points and six boards.

Friday's games

Bingham 67, Davis 42 — Dason Youngblood had 24 points, six rebounds and four assists as the Miners outpaced the Darts 30-22 in the second half to pull away for the win in the Utah Elite 8 Tournament.

Lleyton Parker scored 18 points for Bingham (4-1), which advanced Copper Hills in Saturday's title game.

Josh Sanders led Davis (4-1) with 10 points.

Copper Hills 53, American Fork 25 — At American Fork, one day after scoring 41 points, Stockton Shorts had a game-high 17 points and 11 rebound to help the Grizzlies double-up the Cavemen.

Rowland Bolman added 16 points, including four 3-pointers, to pace Copper Hills.

Zach McWhorter led American Fork with nine points.

Corner Canyon 68, Lehi 55 — At American Fork, Michael Scheffer scored 22 points to lift the Chargers past the Pioneers.

John Mitchell added 15 points on four 3-pointers, and Zachary Wilson supplied 14 points for Corner Canyon.

Dallin Holker led Lehi with 10 points.

Free Tax USA Shootout

Friday's games

Wasatch Academy 75, Wakefield (Virginia) 64 — At Orem, Josip Vrankic tallied a game-high 39 points and 11 rebounds to lift the Tigers by their East Coast opponent.

Emmanuel Akot added 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists for Wasatch Academy.

Hall Parks had 26 points, including six 3-pointers, for Wakefield.

Ken Robinson Classic

Dixie 64, Spanish Fork 50 — At Dixie, Richard Guymon had 14 points, and Kaden Elzy supplied 13 to lift the Flyers to the win.

Ty Curtis scored 10 points for Dixie.

Spanish Fork’s Bridger Noles led all scorers with 18 points, and Tanner Argyle supplied 15 for the Dons.
