SOUTHERN UTAH — If you’ve been an avid reader of the Have You Seen This section for a while, you’ll start to notice trends.

Contributor John Clyde tends to hate-write about bears, an animal that both fascinates and terrifies him. When I asked him if he saw “The Revenant,” he said he dry-heaved through the whole thing.

Martha Ostergar has a thing for “Star Wars” and cats, though I’m pretty sure those two interest Venn diagrams haven’t quite intersected.

I just keep finding these spider videos that I can’t seem to look away from. I don’t know whether to apologize or say, “You’re welcome.”

Yesterday's Have You Seen This?

The latest discovery popped up on Reddit from YouTube user bugsyboat, depicting he and some fellow adventurers making their way through a slot canyon, which is already a pretty nerve-wracking feat. Going through a narrow slot canyon requires you to stay calm and keep moving, and what might derail your inner Zen? How about a nest of spiders?

As the videographer looks up, that’s exactly what comes into frame. Legs. Lots and lots of legs. When your instinct is to run, what do you do when your only option is to move forward amidst the eight-legged clump?

The video is two years old, though it’s only recently gotten traction online. It’s likely the slot canyon is somewhere in Southern Utah, since it’s sandwiched between other Utah videos on bugsyboat’s YouTube channel, but there’s no other clues in the description.

So what’s the verdict: Have I gone too far with the spider videos? Would you prefer puppies and sneezing babies instead?
