THE COUNTRYSIDE — Trail and street cyclist Danny MacAskill is no slouch. He has worked hard his whole career to become one of the best at what he does.

Hard work deserves a grand reward, which is why MacAskill recently took a “Wee Day Out” to get away from the hustle and bustle of it all. Well, sort of.

Really this video from RedBull is a love story between MacAskill and his bike. In fact, the video has the tone and production values that would make this it feel at home in any musical or indie romcom that includes an “I’m in love and I want the whole world to know it” song.

You can tell that MacAskill’s “Wee Day Out” in the countryside near Edinborough, Scotland, is going to be magical from the first wide shot. Yes, that train and bridge are the very same used for the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter film franchise. But the second MacAskill gets on his bike...that’s when the real magic begins.

Just remember that the happy twirls, flips, and jumps MacAskill pulls involve no special effects. They are 100 percent MacAskill magic.

I predict that you’ll gasp a little when he jumps his bike into perfect balance on a single railroad track, I predict that you’ll say “that can’t be real” when he pedals along a moving round bale of hay, and I predict you’ll experience many moments of awe while watching.

If you find yourself in a state of continual disbelief while viewing, continue past the 4:30-minutes worth of tricks, and you’ll see some outtakes that show MacAskill is on the level. Regardless of your position on the belief-disbelief scale, this video is the most charming version of a good time imaginable that will almost certainly brighten your day.
