SANDY— Utahns will soon be able to watch some of their favorite Hollywood classics on the big screen in select theaters around the state.
The 2016 Megaplex Silver Screen series features 10 of the most critically-acclaimed movies in history, each of them digitally-mastered for Megaplex Theatres. The series will begin the week of Oct. 10, lasting until the week of Dec. 12, and will feature the classic films on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Each week will feature one of the following classic films:
- "Lawrence of Arabia" (Oct. 10, 12)
- "The Sound of Music" (Oct. 17, 19)
- "Gone with the Wind" (Oct. 24, 26)
- "Beh-Hur" (Oct. 31, Nov. 2)
- "Doctor Zhivago" (Nov. 7, 9)
- "Giant" (Nov. 14, 16)
- "North by Northwest" (Nov. 21, 23)
- "Singin’ in the Rain" (Nov. 28, 30)
- "Driving Miss Daisy" (Dec. 5, 7)
- "The Searchers" (Dec. 12, 14)
Each Silver Screen Classics movie pass costs $10 and gives admission to all 10 features. Individual movie tickets may be purchased at the box office for $1.50 each. All features are rated “G” or “PG” and are suitable for guests ages 12 and older, according to Megaplex Theatres.
One film each week will be shown at the following Megaplex locations:
- Jordan Commons, Sandy
- Legacy Crossing, Centerville
- Pineview, St. George
- Stadium 8, Cedar City
- Stadium, Mesquite
