SANDY — A Sandy man wanted in Duchesne County for alleged human trafficking has been arrested.

Jared Stephen Morgan, 37, was charged Thursday in 8th District Court in Duchesne County with aggravated human trafficking, aggravated sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping, rape, and forcible sodomy. All the charges are first-degree felonies.

Sandy police received a call Friday from authorities in Duchesne County that Morgan might be at his parents' house in Sandy, said Sandy Police Sgt. Dean Carriger. An officer went to the house and arrested Morgan without incident.

He was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on a $100,000 warrant pending extradition to Duchesne County.

The incidents allegedly happened in June and July of 2014, according to court records, but details about the case were not immediately available. Prosecutors sealed the probable cause statement that is typically public record and part of the information filed with the charges.

Morgan was previously charged in 3rd District Court in 2012 with rape, sodomy and aggravated sex abuse of a child. The case was dismissed in 2013 for unspecified reasons, according to court records.
