SALT LAKE CITY — The NBA announced its 2016-17 NBA schedule Thursday afternoon, including the full 82-game slate of the Utah Jazz.
The Jazz's first game is on the season's first day, Oct. 25 against the Portland Trail Blazers at the Moda Center at 8 p.m (all times listed at Mountain time). The Jazz are part of one of just three games on the NBA's opening day. Then, they'll host the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. at Vivint Arena for Utah's home opener.
The Jazz have 17 back-to-backs next season, one fewer than in the 2015-16 season. They'll go on two long road trips of 5 games each: an East Coast road swing from Nov. 6 to Nov. 12, and a more varied one from Jan. 2 to Jan. 8.
The longest homestand of the Jazz's season is also five games long: from Dec. 6 through the 16th.
The Jazz have three TNT games this season, all at Vivint Arena: Nov. 17 against Chicago, Jan. 26 against the Los Angeles Lakers, and March 27 against the New Orleans Pelicans.
They have four ESPN games, also all at home at 8:30 p.m: Dallas on Dec. 16, Detroit on Jan. 13, New York on Mar. 22, and Portland on Apr. 4. They'll be on NBA TV nine times.
Last season, the Jazz's opening schedule featured the squad on TNT once, ESPN twice, and NBA three times, though the schedule was changed near the end of the year. Like last season, the national TV schedule is subject to change.
The Jazz only play the vaunted Golden State Warriors three times this season, and only once in Salt Lake City, on Dec. 8 at 8 p.m. They'll play the champion Cleveland Cavaliers at home on Jan. 10 at 7 p.m.
Tickets will go on sale next week.
