CEDAR CITY — A man suffered non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed during a fight at a park in Cedar City late Friday night, police said.

Cedar City Police Sgt. Jimmy Roden said police became aware of the incident after the man stabbed was riding in a vehicle that had been pulled over for speeding at about 11:30 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle pulled into a hospital parking lot and the officer was alerted that the driver was rushing his friend to the hospital. The man, whose name was not immediately released, was admitted to a hospital with “non-life threatening” injuries, Roden said.

Roden said investigators discovered the man had been stabbed during a fight between “multiple subjects” at Bicentennial Park. Officers also found evidence that items had been stolen during the altercation and arrested two juveniles on suspicion of robbery. Those juveniles were booked into Iron County Youth Corrections.

Their names were not released because of their ages.

Roden added police are still investigating the motive for the fight and stabbing, and that more charges may be filed once the investigation is concluded.

More information will be added as it becomes available.
