SUNDANCE — Police said Monday it was blunt force trauma that caused the death of a woman who died Friday while riding a zipline at Sundance Mountain Resort.

Lisa Lambe, 55, of Hilton Head, South Carolina, was found unconscious and not breathing, according to Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon. She was taken to Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, where she later died.

"Exactly how she sustained those injuries is still not completely clear," Cannon said in a statement Monday. "She was found suspended in a harness and was brought to the ground and treated."

Lambe and her husband were riding separate zip lines and she did not reach the bottom with him, Cannon said. Zipline workers found Lambe and brought her to the end of the zipline, where paramedics rendered CPR and then took her to the hospital.

Police are still investigating what caused the blunt force trauma that killed Lambe.

Sundance general manager Chad Linebaugh issued the following statement:

“All of us here at Sundance Mountain Resort are deeply saddened by Mrs. Lambe’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time. Safety is and always has been a top priority for us. We are working very closely with local authorities during the pending investigation. All spans of the Sundance ZipTour have been cleared for operations.”
