TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A Utah woman wanted for kidnapping her 1-year-old grandson has been arrested in Oklahoma.
Tulsa County Sheriff's Deputy Justin Green says 56-year-old Donna Jones of Heber City, Utah, was arrested Tuesday night at a home north of Tulsa and the child was recovered unharmed.
Green says the two were found after the sheriff's office was contacted by the FBI.
Jones is being held in the Tulsa County jail without bond pending extradition to Utah. Jail records do not list an attorney for her.
Her son, 24-year-old Michael Thomas Jones, also of Heber City, was arrested Wednesday for investigation of first degree accessory to kidnapping and violation of a protective order. Heber City police said he was acting in concert with his mother. He is currently being held at the Wasatch County Jail on $25,000 cash bail only.
Green says the child is now in state custody. The child’s mother was en route to Oklahoma to be reunited with her child, Heber police said.
