PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Wearing an all-green uniform that recalled memories of his days as a Provo High standout, former BYU point guard Kyle Collinsworth began his journey of showing off for NBA scouts.

So far, not bad.

Collinsworth had seven points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals in 20 minutes of play for Team K&D Rounds on Thursday in the first game of the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament at Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virginia. KD Rounds won the opening game 91-90 over Portsmouth Partnership in the first game of the exhibition tourney that features the top college seniors in the country.

Collinsworth missed both shots he attempted from the field, but finished with a game-high 7 of 8 from the free-throw line while crashing the boards for KD Rounds. His 11 rebounds were a team-high, and second only to former Virginia post Mike Tobey’s 16 on the night.

Former Florida forward Dorian Finney-Smith led all scorers with 25 points, and KD Rounds teammate Bryn Forbes scored 18.

Collinsworth and K&D Rounds will face Norfolk Sports Club, which features players like VCU’s Melvin Johnson and Michigan State’s Matt Costello, at 7 p.m. MDT Friday. All games are streamed live on espn3.com.
