SALT LAKE CITY — A 9-year-old girl was listed in critical condition after a car crash near 800 South and 400 West in Salt Lake City Wednesday night.

Lt. Martin Kaufmann with the Salt Lake City Police Department said a pickup truck and a Ford Expedition collided and the girl was ejected from the SUV. She was taken to Primary Children's Hospital in critical condition, but her condition was upgraded Thursday morning. Police said she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

There were four other children and a 42-year-old female in the SUV that were listed in good condition. The 73-year-old male driver of the pickup was also listed in good condition.

The 42-year-old woman was cited at the accident because her child was not wearing a seat belt and the male driver was cited for failure to stop.
