Shoppers, start your engines. Black Friday is right around the corner! If the advertisements you're already seeing are to be believed, you're going to save big bucks. Who cares if you have to wait for hours in the freezing cold to even get in the store when you could be enjoying a second helping of pie and precious family time? Right? We're not so sure. Here are 4 reasons that Black Friday is dead, or at least on life support.

1. Limited quantities (VERY limited)

If you're blown away by the Black Friday deals, stop and check for the fine print that tells you that they have limited quantities. Retailers carry only a handful of some of the best deals to entice customers to come in and hopefully purchase other items while they're there.

2. Original prices? Maybe not

Before you jump in line for a TV advertised at 40 percent off, do a little bit of research into the actual regularly priced item. Retailers will often inflate the "original" price to make the savings look better. Suddenly 40 percent becomes 20 percent or less and probably not worth the time spent waiting out in the cold.

3. Cheap products

Retailers will often create products specifically to attract Black Friday shoppers. What they don't tell you is that it's a lower quality version with fewer features. Save your money and shop for a better product another time.

4. Black (and blue) Friday

Every year the news is filled with people being trampled, fights breaking out and just plain nastiness. All this for the day after we set aside to celebrate how much we're thankful for?

If you're not looking forward to the cutthroat crowds and questionable sales tactics, you're not alone! A growing number of shoppers are skipping Black Friday in favor of deals that can be found year round. At KSL Deals, we offer 70 percent off of Utah activities, events, gifts and more, which means you can give more for less. Get an EXTRA 20 percent off on Black Friday using the code BLACKFRIDAY2015 at checkout.
