SALT LAKE CITY — The Crimson Corner is your home for Utah football all season long.

Another week, another win for the Utes. Utah is 5-0 for the first time since 2010.

This week on the show we'll revisit the Utes win over Cal, look ahead to Utah's game against Arizona State and even take a look back at a classic featuring Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers in 2003.

Utes beat Cal 30-24

We start the show by taking a look back at a clash between Utah and Cal — a Top 25 matchup featuring two players in the Heisman Trophy race, Utah's Devontae Booker and Cal's Jared Goff.

If that didn't create enough hype, ESPN's College Football GameDay came to town as well. The good news is that the game lived up to the hype.

Film breakdown

It wasn't the best night for Utah's passing game, but the run game was spectacular. The defense? Phenomenal. The Utes forced six turnovers, including five interceptions against one of the best quarterbacks in the country. Hans Olsen and former Ute Christian Cox from 1280 the Zone break down how the Utes were able to do it.

Utes climb in the polls

The Utes win over Cal was good enough for the Utes to move up one spot in the AP Top 25 to No. 4, and their 16 first place votes were as many as Baylor and TCU had combined. The only team receiving more right now is Ohio State. The Utes remain at No. 7 in the Coaches Poll.

More weekly awards for the Utes

Devontae Booker was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 222 yards against Cal, while Tom Hackett was named Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week. Utah has had seven Pac-12 Player of the Week honors, and the only week the Utes haven't had a player selected was their bye week.

Utes turn attention to Arizona State

The Utes focus is now on Arizona State, who they host Saturday night at Rice-Eccles Stadium on ESPN. The Utes won't have a lack of motivation in this one, as the Sun Devils are one of two teams the Utes have yet to beat since joining the Pac-12. They have lost 11 straight to Arizona State, with the last win coming in 1976.

Around the Pac-12

Recapping the games from around the league. Washington shocked USC 17-12, Washington State beat Oregon in double overtime 45-38, Arizona ran past Oregon State 44-7 and Arizona State beat up on Colorado, 48-23.

Sarkisian fired

USC fired head football coach Steve Sarkisian on Monday. The former BYU All-American quarterback was let go one day after he was placed on indefinite leave after he appeared to show up for work intoxicated. Sark has been dealing with multiple issues, including substance abuse and has checked into a treatment facility.

Ute Legends

In this week's Ute Legends segment we dusted off some film from 2003. Remember when Cal came to Rice-Eccles Stadium? Alex Smith was making his first start at quarterback for the Utes after Brett Elliott was injured the previous week against Texas A&M.

After the first two series for Cal, they also turned their offense over to their backup quarterback, who nearly rallied the Bears to a win. That backup QB? Current NFL great Aaron Rodgers, of the Green Bay Packers.
