DREAMLAND — Two filmmakers from New England included Utah in a passion project with layer lapse video.

Julian Tryba and Michael Sutton traveled 3,000 miles through Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and California to film the incredible natural landscape housed in the Southwestern United States.

"We made filming awesome locations a priority, often at the expense of a full night's sleep, but it was well worth it," the video description says. "Every night we shot sunset and once it got dark we'd find a secluded place to film the stars and sleep for a few hours before the sun came up."

They filmed in Canyonlands, Bryce, Valley of Fire, Death Valley, Mono Lake, Horseshoe Bend, Grand Canyon, Canyon de Chelly and even outer space with help from NASA.

The pair used a layer-lapse technique for the video, where "different regions of a scene are shown at different points in time." The end result shows shifting angles and changing light in each scene of the time-lapse.

If you like what you see here, Tryba and Sutton say they will release more 4K footage of their trip in the future.
